Our History

Nor-Cote® International, Inc was established in Des Plaines, Illinois in 1976. Our first big break happened in 1977. We developed a UV curable screen printing ink for Crawford Industries polyethylene products. Crawford was granted a license for manufacturing and marketing our inks for all flat sheet applications. We continued, under the Nor-Cote label, to manufacture and sell our inks to the container industry.

In June of 1982 the license agreement with Crawford Industries ended and all the ink formulas and customer information were returned to Nor-Cote®. We purchased some of Crawford´s equipment, moved our Des Plaines plant south and began manufacturing UV inks in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

In late 1987, Nor-Cote® decided to expand overseas. To date, we have a second manufacturing site located in the county of Hampshire, England and distributors throughout most of Europe . In Asia, Nor-Cote® has a tech support and light manufacturing facility in Singapore along with distributors in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Australia and India . Our plan to emulate Nor-Cote´s approach and philosophies at key locations around the world.

In 2003, Nor-Cote® International was purchased by Fortune Industries, Inc., a publicly traded company headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana . Fortune Industries´ current operating focus is achieved through its Manufacturing Distribution Segment, (Nor-Cote International and Kingston Sales), it´s Wireless Segment, (PDH, Inc.,Cornerstone Wireless Construction Services, Cornerstone Telecom Technologies Corp., and Starquest Wireless), and its Professional Business Segment (Employer Solutions Group - ESG, Professional Staff Management, Century II).
